At the threshold of the
twenty-first century, we are witnessing a
renewal of interest in ancient Indian sciences like Yoga, Ayurveda,
Vastushastra
etc. Though their virtues have been recognized, their full
potential is yet to be
harnessed. The outstanding feature of these sciences |
is a powerful theoretical
framework which is truly holistic and unifying in its
approach. Today when we
are at a stage where further growth of science
demands more interaction
and integration of hitherto isolated disciplines,
the unifying spirit and theory of
ancient Indian sciences provides inspiration.
| |
It is a common belief that
the ancient approach is not compatible
with modern are and technology.
However it is interesting to note that the
ancient Indian approach is
science also based upon the very fundamentals
of Space, Time and Motion
which the cornerstones of modern sciences.
These fundamentals therefore
provide a common platform for a dialogue
between the ancient and the modern .
| |
SpaceTime
Research Institute is an umbrella under which eminent
professionals from
diverse disciplines like Mathematics, Physics , Medicine ,
Engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Yoga , Ayurveda
and Sanskrit etc.
have gathered with objective
of benefiting from this dialogue of the ancient
and the modern. While
as forthe the scientists it is an opportunity to
explore newer paradigms , from the
point ofview of the common man, one |
of the immediate
applications is in
the sphere of health
and sports. Space
time theory can be used in
various fields like
sports, dance, music etc. |
| |
SpaceTime Research Institute is an autonomous scientific
organization with legal status of Public
Charitable Trust registered in Pune,
India. Its trustees are
representatives of different walks of life: the
scientific community as well as other relevant populas.
It is financed
mainly by donations,
membership contributions and income from services
rendered. Functional and financial
autonomy provides the much needed
flexibility to the institute to take up unconventional
ideas. It thus provides
a parallel forum to the
scientific community to carry out such work which
is rarely possible within the constraints of
mainstream research.
| |
Promotion of Health is high
on the agenda of the institute. Holistic
health research and services form
the bulk of its current activities. Wide
dissemination of information
is planned in this regard. |
